Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) executes the production plan based on work orders and the direction of the Project Manager by coordinating Restoration Supervisors (RS) and labor while assuring safety compliance and quality of production. In simple terms, the Assistant Project Manager focuses on production tasks and management of labor to complete the work assigned.

Major Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Aids the Project Manager (PM) in writing the scope of work for production tasks and defining needed labor ratios (Restoration Supervisors to general labor being supervised). 
  • Reviews customer feedback, priorities, and work orders with the PM. This may involve a walk-through daily.
  • Makes decisions on how general labor will be assigned. Delivers work orders to the Restoration Supervisors. 
  • Conducts daily meetings for supervisors. This includes beginning and end of shift meetings. 
  • Oversees the daily assignments, lineup, and production of assigned Restoration Supervisors and general laborers. 
  • Collects and reviews all daily documentation, verifying documentation completion and accuracy, and then submitting documentation to the Project Manager. 
  • Ensures the production team is meeting productivity and time constraints based on the project completion schedule, on time and on budget.
  • Ensures the Restoration Supervisors and their assigned general labor adhere to both SERVPRO® and any site-specific uniform or policy standards. 
  • Addresses all personnel issues with the production team, including General Labors. 
  • Reviews the shift’s progress. Determines what, if any, alterations to the next day’s work order assignments and what amount of labor is needed for any uncompleted tasks. 
  • Reports to the PM on the progress for each shift. 
 Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully fulfill the major duties and responsibilities above. Some key requirements to fulfill the position may include, but not be limited to: 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and work with other people. 
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language to communicate with others, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner. Multi or Bi-lingual language skills are preferred but not required. 
  • Advanced problem-solving skills including proper handling of complex scheduling issues, demanding customer requests, and critical conflict resolution. 
  • Intermediate presentation skills which may include detailed presentation/update of project progress and issues to upper management, as well as communication as work activities to assigned supervisors. 
  • Detailed oriented with an emphasis on project management. 
  • Should attain the OSHA 30-Hour General Industry training certification. 
  • Should be actively certified as an IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT), Fire Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT), and Applied Structural Drying Specialist (ASD). 
  • Intermediate organizational skills to ensure proper workforce utilization, documentation completion, and overall time management. 
Working Conditions 
  • Fast-paced, high pressure work environment. 
  • Shift hours may vary depending on the size and scope of the project but will typically consist of eight (8) to ten (10) hour shifts. 
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time with approximately sixty percent (60%) of the time evaluating the progress of the site by conducting site walk throughs. 
  • Ability to travel locally and out of state when necessary. 
Compensation: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
